UNBLEMISH Regimen FAQs

I am allergic to Benzoyl Peroxide. Can I use the UNBLEMISH Regimen?

You can still benefit from the UNBLEMISH Regimen by replacing UNBLEMISH Dual Intensive Acne Treatment with SOOTHE Sensitive Skin Treatment. This product, featuring RFp3 peptide technology which is a proprietary combination of two peptides and a protease inhibitor that work at the skin’s surface to neutralize triggers and pacify skin clinically proven to help reduce the visible signs of redness that are common in acne prone skin. Please follow the usage instructions provided for the UNBLEMISH Regimen, found in the UNBLEMISH Regimen Brochure.

How does the UNBLEMISH Regimen work?

Based on Multi-Med® Therapy, the UNBLEMISH Regimen is a complete solution that tackles the acne process—clogged pores, trapped oil, inflammation and hyperpigmentation. Because breakouts are continuously forming under the surface of acne-prone skin, the multiple active ingredients in the UNBLEMISH Regimen should be used twice daily over the entire face to stop the acne process. With continued use, blemishes will be reduced and marks will appear to fade, and skin will look healthier and clearer.

Please read the UNBLEMISH Regimen brochure before using the UNBLEMISH Regimen. It contains usage instructions for best results.

My UNBLEMISH Pump stopped working, what should I do?

UNBLEMISH Dual Intensive Acne Treatment is packaged in a 2-sided pump meant to dispense two different formulas at the same time. The product in the dual pump is viscous, which can cause air bubbles if the product is not stored upright. In order to bring the product back to the bottom of the chamber to dispense product correctly, the product should be held upright and tapped firmly on a hard surface.

How do I use the ACUTE CARE™ UNBLEMISH SPECIAL WITH CLARIFYING TONER?

ACUTE CARE can be used with the UNBLEMISH Regimen, but not on active acne or red and sensitive areas. For best results, follow these steps:
1. In the evening, remove makeup with a non-oily makeup-removing cloth (such as REDEFINE Eye Cloths). Cleanse your face with UNBLEMISH Acne Treatment Sulfur Wash, rinse and pat dry. Skin must be completely clean and dry before you apply ACUTE CARE. Do not use any leave-on products underneath ACUTE CARE, including eye cream or toner.
2. Tear open the pouch and remove ACUTE CARE from the transparent container. Carefully remove the white protective film and do not touch the delicate microstructure. For best results, use immediately after opening.
3. Position ACUTE CARE over the wrinkle area and press the adhesive gently against relaxed skin (do not stretch the skin). Gently press to activate cones and smooth out any bubbles. (Do not apply ACUTE CARE on active acne. See above instructions).
4. Follow with the rest of the UNBLEMISH nighttime Regimen, staying at least ¼ inch away from ACUTE CARE.

I am allergic to sulfa drugs. Can I use UNBLEMISH Acne Treatment Sulfur Wash?

An allergy to oral sulfa medications like Bactrim, Septra, Trimethoprim or Sulfamethoxazole does not predispose one to an allergy to topical sulfur medications. If you are concerned about an allergy, you should consider trying a sensitivity test before beginning to use UNBLEMISH Acne Treatment Sulfur Wash:

1. Apply a small amount of the cleanser on your jawline or neck for 30 seconds, and then rinse it off.
2. Repeat this process three times a day in the same area as originally applied, for three days.
3. Watch for any signs of redness, dryness, irritation or swelling.

If you determine you are sensitive to UNBLEMISH Acne Treatment Sulfur Wash, discontinue use and substitute REDEFINE Daily Cleansing Mask for your cleansing step.

What products can I use on the off times while I ramp up with the UNBLEMISH Regimen?

We recommend that you use mild cleansers, moisturizers and sunscreens as you ramp up to using the UNBLEMISH Regimen twice a day. Please avoid other products containing retinoids, alpha hydroxy acids such as glycolic, or any scrubs and mechanical brushes, as these can result in irritation. The SOOTHE Regimen is a good option.

Can the UNBLEMISH Regimen be used on my body?

You may use the UNBLEMISH Regimen to address body acne as well. Ramp up directed to twice a day as needed to control acne breakouts. Once a day, gently massage ENHANCEMENTS Micro-Dermabrasion Paste over the affected area on damp skin. Rinse the skin and pat dry. Then follow with the remaining UNBLEMISH Regimen and apply a lightweight moisturizer if skin feels dry. Be aware that Benzoyl Peroxide can bleach fabrics so wear white clothing and use white lines and towels.

I’m using the UNBLEMISH Regimen and my skin is dry. What should I do?

Slight tightness or mild redness may indicate that your skin is adjusting to the ingredients in the regimen. This is a common occurrence and may last up to two weeks. If you experience dryness while using the UNBLEMISH Regimen, layer a moisturizer over UNBLEMISH Dual Intensive Acne Treatment such as SOOTHE Sensitive Skin Treatment or SOOTHE Moisture Replenishing Cream.

My skin is looking clear. Now what should I do?

Acne is not curable but it can be controlled, and the right acne regimen may prevent new blemishes from forming. If the UNBLEMISH Regimen is helping to clear your skin, stay on it. There is no limit to the length of time you can use the UNBLEMISH Regimen. If you discontinue the UNBLEMISH Regimen, your blemishes are likely to return because the causes may be hormonal and genetic, among other reasons.

How long should I use the UNBLEMISH Regimen?

There is no cure for acne, but you can control it with the UNBLEMISH Regimen. Just because your skin is clear doesn’t mean it’s time to stop. Continuous use of the UNBLEMISH Regimen will help keep your skin clear. Once your skin has been acne free for an extended period of time, you may consider shifting to once-a-day use of the UNBLEMISH Regimen and start introducing our REDEFINE Regimen into your daily routine.

When can I expect to see results from the UNBLEMISH Regimen?

Most people see results in six to eight weeks with the UNBLEMISH Regimen. However, if your acne is severe, it may take longer before you see an improvement. The longer you use the products, the more visible the results will be.

In an independent six week clinical study, subjects with acne achieved the following results in acne lesions:
16%reduction after 2 weeks
42% reduction after 4 weeks
63% reduction after 6 weeks
If your skin does not improve within eight weeks of twice-a-day usage or you have cystic acne, we recommend you see a dermatologist.
