Why Direct Selling?
Our decision to transform Rodan + Fields Dermatologists into a direct selling opportunity was literally a response to a groundswell movement from our customers. Following network news coverage of a public relations event for which Dr. Rodan and Dr. Fields conducted an educational group “house call”, the TV station was overwhelmed with calls from people seeking out ways to become involved. Viewers wanted a more personalized skincare experience as well as ways to tap into the doctors and the brand for career opportunities.
This phenomenon planted the seed for direct selling. We recognized that the best way to get our message heard and our skincare regimens onto as many faces as possible is to create a sales force of people who have personally experienced the benefits of the brand.
We believe the power of word-of-mouth was always the key to our success in department stores.
